Healthy Fruit Smoothie Recipes

Three smoothie recipes for a delicious breakfast or afternoon snack. All recipes are courtesy of Norton Healthcare’s N Good Health program.

Peanut Butter-Banana
½ cup banana, diced
3 ounces low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup skim milk

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
Option: Freeze the banana before making the smoothie

Stawberry-Blueberry-Banana
1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
½ cup blueberries
½ medium banana
¼ cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
½ cup orange juice
1 tablespoon honey
½ cup ice cubes

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

Watermelon
1 cup watermelon, seeded, cut into ½” cubes
½ cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup ice cubes

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.


Smoothie Bike

To support healthy eating initiatives at Norton Healthcare, Morrison's has donated a bike that makes smoothies! The smoothie bike is going on tour and will visit all Norton Healthcare facility cafés in August to raise money for the Bike to Beat Cancer. Join in the fun and ride the smoothie bike for 2 minutes when it visits your facility.

If you ride any of the bikes, you'll get a free smoothie and N Good Health will donate $5 to Bike to Beat Cancer. If you don't have time or don't wish to ride, smoothies will be available for $5, plus you are welcome to make a personal donation to the Bike to Beat Cancer.
